Markus Henttonen
is a Finnish born photographer, artist and director. Working between art and commercial Markus is known for his timeless and beautiful images of people and landscapes. His style can be described honest and sensual with a tiny hint of melancholy underneath. Cinematic storytelling and light, combined to atmospheric, even poetic moods is the essence of his photography.
Markus´ works have been shown in over 100 solo- and group exhibitions throughout Europe and he has released 3 monographs, most recent Twisted Tales ? Road to Hope worldwide via Hatje Cantz. His works have been exhibited in major International Photography group shows in Europe in e.g. NRW Forum Düsseldorf, Museum Hilversum, Benaki Museum, Kommunale Galerie Berlin, Copenhagen Photo Festival, %u0141ód%u017A Fotofestiwal and alongside renowned artists such as David LaChapelle, Pierre&Gilles, Mitch Epstein, Martin Schoeller, Rankin and Robert Polidori.
Photography has taken Markus to travel and live abroad from early on and he has recently relocated from Berlin to Barcelona, where the variety of interesting locations and beautiful natural light year-round suit well for his visual storytelling. The new home Korento Villa combines the creative lifestyle under one roof offering inspiring surroundings both studio and location shoots.
Alongside artistic career Markus uses his distinctive style to shoot for various editorial and commercial clients in portrait, lifestyle and fashion.
